 The title is long but the fest won't be. Unlike most film festivals that last weeks, one week, or one weekend, we are host a one night event, short and sweet. The Chicago “Really” Short Film Fest was conceived as a way to get those “really” short films (15 minutes and under) out to the public in an open and entertaining atmosphere. The fest has been host to award winning short films from around the world. The short films that screen at The Chicago "Really" Short Film Fest get an opportunity to be featured on television through our partnership with Image Union. All films screened at the film fest get a "film review" from Chicago Film Critic Erik Childress. And Only one film gets to walk away with The Audience Choice Award. We screen short films, animations, documentaries, music videos and other such videos under 15 minutes. For the filmmakers this is a great opportunity to have your films screened in front of a live audience in an intimate and entertaining atmosphere. Not only that but we go to great lengths for such a small fest like ours to really promote the films and their filmmakers. We take any press materials you send us and post it on our site. If you are able to attened the fest your are welcome to bring CD's or DVD's of your films to sell and help promote your work. We will have a table set up for the filmmakers just for that. We don't consider the fest a competition but we want the filmmakers to be recognized for their hard work. For this we have asked Image Union and film critic Erik Childress to participate with us in the film fest. The fest is all about the films but we also bring you live entertainment. Past shows have brought to the film fest live performances by Truckstop Supermodel, odd*is*he, and Mystechs in 2004, The Patel Leads, project44, and TRS80 in 2005, and The Devil Dolls and Beatallica in 2006.

For those of you who have been to our film fest in the past I thank you for coming out and I'm personally sending out this invite to you once again. If you see me at the show don't hesitate to say hi! For those of you that don't know what it is, its a night of short films. This year we are treading on new ground, first we are at a new venue The Historic Portage Theater. The theater seats almost 2000 people. Second, we are having this show on a Thursday night and with that we have scaled back from the usual activities we have brought to you in the past. Third, we will open the doors at 6PM with a feature length "Alien" fan film shot in 1992 and finished in 2006. The heart of the show are the short films sent in by filmmakers from around the world. No film is longer than 15 minutes and they all range from narrative, to animation, to music video, to documentary and so on. Awards will be handed out at the end of the night. All of these things come together for one night, under one roof. For the last few months or so we have been updating our website over at Maia-Entertainment.com the original home site of The Chicago "Really" Short Film fest. At the start of this year 2007 we began to build a website for the film fest itself. Everything is almost here however there is still more to do.
